About the event
Formally the Hingham Naval Ammunition Depot Annex, this massive parcel of relatively contiguous forest is now stockpiled with breeding birds and other critters. Some of the notable species include Winter Wren, Pileated Woodpeckers, Worm-eating Warblers, and Ruffed Grouse. Let’s spread out and tally every bird in the State Park! In socially-distant fashion, each family/social pod/participant will be assigned an area to cover.
This survey will be run as close to the start and end times as possible (5AM-12PM), please bear this in mind if considering the event. Also please have some way of measuring distance, step counters on phones for example are good ways are doing this.
Please sign up prior to June 26th so we can allocate territories. Correspondence as to routes, survey methods, etc.,. will be communicated to participants using the emails provided during registration.
