The Assawompsett Pond complex is home to two of the largest natural water bodies in Massachusetts. An area rich in evidence of glacial recession and anthropological significance, these changes made by earth and man had significant impacts to the habitats of this area, along with the breeding birds that inhabit them. All are welcome and encouraged to participate, regardless of skill level. An optional Zoom meeting will be hosted at 6:30 PM the Thursday before the survey (6/22) to discuss the survey areas and habitats at this location. Those who are less familiar with our local birds and their songs will be paired with more experienced birders. We will bird the morning and meet up around noon for a (BYO) picnic lunch at Tamarack Park.
