The South Shore Bird Club (SSBC) was founded in 1946 and the first members set out to explore and share the birds and birding habitats of the South Shore of Massachusetts.
We still concentrate on a variety of mainly local field trips. Many trips involve car-pooling.
In case of inclement weather please check back on this website or contact leader.
Non-members are always welcome.
Please read and adhere to the ABA birding code of ethics

The South Shore Bird Club’s Annual Meeting will be held at 6 pm on Saturday, January 18th, 2025 at the First Parish Church in Bridgewater (50 School St, Bridgewater, MA). All are welcome to attend.
Prior to the main meeting, we will also have a planning meeting at 5 pm to discuss trips and events for our next newsletter covering March - August 2025. If you would like to lead a trip next year or have an idea for a new event, please attend the planning meeting or send your ideas in advance to Vin or Brian.
The main meeting will kick off at 6 pm with a potluck supper followed by a brief business meeting and ending with our keynote speaker. We have had a change in speaker since the newsletter was published. Stewart Ting Chong will be giving a presentation for Mass Audubon’s Rescue Raptors initiative. The topic will be the dangers posed by Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides (SGARs).
